We are coming to the end of the first week in the new school and it has gone amazingly smoothly. Our principal was right when he said we’d see something only once-the looks on the kids faces as they entered the building for the first time…it was priceless! Here’s the new classroom-it’s just great, and we are enjoying working in here immensely. Check out the new iMacs!! Now it’s time to get back to posting-my cousin told me to get back to it, and so I shall, hopefully by the weekend…

Hi friends-instead of posting to the themes, I am posting this little scrapbook page to let you know where I’ve been. We are nine days from occupying the new school! It is so exciting-but busy-we are working until 7 or 8 at night and Saturdays to get everything all ready for the movers. I probably will not post until we are settled. Then I’ll catch up and resume the fun! The page shows the new and old classrooms. I can’t wait!! Meanwhile, I am checking your wonderful work periodically and enjoying your photos:)

I have generally tried to avoid special effects as part of post processing because I figure that this is a photo challenge and not a photoshop challenge, but in yesterday’s exercise picture I wanted to highlight the theme without losing what I thought was a lot of pretty scenery. The colors were out of the camera and the idea of cropping all of that out…
And today? I had to, just had to. This is his eye color-no enhancement at all.

In accordance with Earth Hour (which is actually tomorrow), we shut all the lights off in the school for ten minutes. This shot was taken sitting in my desk chair and looking straight up.

Today we had the first tour of our new school. It is amazing!! This is what will be the new entrance to the building. You can see the old building on the left. The new school was literally wrapped around two sides of the old as it was built. You can imagine how delicate the operation of taking the old building down, planned for this summer will be-can you say photo op?

And soon to be filled. These are the crates that have been delivered to my classroom for the move to the new school. We have seventeen more school days in this old building. The new school is gorgeous and state of the art and I cannot wait! It’s going to be an utterly crazy April and worth every second of the madness:)

This is a restaurant called Fire and Ice. You go through a raw buffet line-picking ingredients and sauces and take then to the grill to be stir fried. The combinations are endless, and for one price you can go through as often as you like. There are a few of these in the Boston/Providence area. I don’t know if they are a national chain. Great fun and great food!
